5 Ideas for Company Holiday Fun

5 Ideas for Company Holiday Fun

November 17, 2016

The holidays are nearing and that means two things: fruitcake and the annual company holiday party. While people tend to enjoy their company parties much more than they enjoy fruitcake, your employees might still be pleasantly surprised by a change of plans. Instead of the classic party, take your employees out for a one-of-a-kind night (or day) that they will surely be talking about come Monday morning.

Here are 5 ways to put a twist on the traditional “company Christmas party”:

1. Holiday Outings for Families of Employees: Anthem Dinner and Blink!

The holidays are all about family so why not gather employees and their families for a winter evening that is fun for everyone. Blink! is one of Boston’s newest traditions, featuring nightly light shows running from November 20th to January 1st at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. To top the evening off, head on over to another Faneuil Hall gem, Anthem Kitchen + Bar, for American fare, reinvented.

2. Team Activity: Bingo at the Green Briar

What better way to practice team building than some friendly competition? Join the Green Briar Pub in Brighton on Tuesdays at 8PM for this bingo with a twist. Grab a pint and get ready for a fun evening of Extreme Bingo – using videos, songs, and more!

3. Holiday Laughs: Comedy at Laugh Boston & Dinner at MJ's Westin

Holidays are a time for joy and merriment so lift the mood around the office with some laughs. Laugh Boston, conveniently located next to MJ O’Connor’s in the Westin Hotel, offers a wide array of hilarious shows and witty comedians, from Dirty Disney to Greg Fitzsimmons. Before the show, grab a table at MJ’s for some pre-laugh dinner and drinks. Delicious Irish fare and comedy go together about as well as delicious Irish fare and beer, so why wait?

4. Sports Holidays: Bruins Games and the Harp

Nothing screams Northeast winter quite like hockey, so round-up your coworkers and head to the Harp for a pre-Bruins game dinner or enjoy some ice cold beers while watching the B’s take the ice from the Harp’s bar. The designated office “sports guy” will thank you.

5. Give Back as a Team: Santa in the Seaport at District Hall with Caught in Southie

Spread some holiday cheer by supporting the South Boston Community House at Santa in the Seaport on December 11th 11-2pm at District Hall. Grab your team, their families, and a grocery or department store gift card donation and head to this kid friendly event. Enjoy brunch at Gather and some awesome holiday activities with your team while supporting the community. Tis’ the season of giving!
